About
Between Dust and Light brings together a new series of large-scale acrylic paintings by the Syrian-Dutch artist Amjad Hashem. Rooted in his experiences with change and migration, the exhibition explores what remains after a break: memory, identity, care, and the fragile process of starting over. Dust symbolizes loss, erosion, and interrupted histories. Light refers to presence, perseverance, and continuity.
Between Dust and Light invites the visitor into the silent in-between space between departure and arrival, destruction and renewal, absence and connection. Within these spaces, trauma and hope coexist, without a definitive solution being offered. The exhibition poses the question of what we carry with us when familiar structures collapse, and how light remains.
