Over

Wenzhu Song (b. 1996) is a Netherlands-based multidisciplinary artist working across performance, film, and installation. Her practice explores identity, queerness, migration, memory, and belonging, drawing from her Hakka ancestry and the impact of China’s migration policies on personal and collective histories. Treating the body as both vessel and witness, Song uses movement, sound, image, and durational actions to examine vulnerability, transformation, and resistance. Her work has been presented at the Stedelijk Museum, Eye Filmmuseum, KunstRAI, NDSM, DOKA, and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Across solo and collaborative projects, she develops a visual language in which diasporic and queer bodies become sites of memory, rupture, and becoming. She is also part of Migannaj, an ongoing collective artistic research project.
